IcePanel · North Vancouver, Canada, Canada
Join IcePanel, a small, profitable team building a collaborative modelling tool for software architecture. You’ll own end-to-end features, ship weekly, and improve real-time systems. We value craftsmanship, ownership, and shipping fast — not just building for managers, but for engineers who actually enjoy using the product.
About the Role
You’ll build across the entire product: frontend UI/UX (working closely with design), backend APIs and data models, real-time systems (WebSockets), infrastructure and migrations, and fixing, refining, and improving what already exists.
What You Will Do
Build across the entire product: frontend, backend, real-time systems, infrastructure, and migrations.
Own meaningful features end-to-end — from Git-like workflows to access controls for large organizations.
Ship weekly and improve performance or usability in noticeable ways.
Work across frontend + backend without hand-holding.
Contribute to solving harder problems like access control for large organizations and managing deeply nested architecture models.
Fix things that feel “off” in the product — not because assigned, but because they bother you.
Take ownership and don’t wait for permission to move forward.
Make things feel better, not just work.
What We Are Looking For
6+ years of experience across both large companies and startups.
Strong in both frontend and backend.
Have built things you’re genuinely proud of.
Care deeply about how things look and feel, not just that they work.
Take ownership and don’t wait for permission.
Comfortable working across a large, evolving codebase.
Can take feedback without ego and adjust quickly.
Must show us something you’ve built — portfolio, live apps, screenshots — because we care about how it feels to use, not just what it does.
Nice to Have
Experience as a founder (even if it failed).
Non-traditional background.
Understanding of limits of LLMs beyond surface-level use.
Experience in major tech hubs and willingness to work in Canada.
If you rely heavily on AI without understanding fundamentals, wait for direction, blame others, lead with ego, or need constant permission — this role isn’t for you. If you don’t actually care about what you’re building, don’t apply.
