Advanced QA Engineer

The Role

Test and validate Waystar products through manual and automated testing. Convert complex manual tests into reusable automated scripts, write and run SQL-backed tests, execute functional, regression, usability and performance tests, report defects, and collaborate with Application Engineering to reproduce and resolve issues while maintaining QA documentation and processes.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Right now, we are looking for an outstanding, brilliant, and driven Advanced QA Engineer to join our growing team. The Advanced QA Engineer is responsible for testing the company's products to ensure that company standards and specifications are met. Responsibilities include executing test cases, creating and running automated scripts, creating defect reports, and working with Application Engineering to troubleshoot issues. The Advanced QA Engineer will perform some, or all, of the following types of testing: functional, regression, usability, and load/performance. Also, the QA Engineer works closely with the Manager, Application Engineering to ensure that the product is meeting the Waystar quality standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Possesses domain expertise in one or more sections of a   Waystar   engineered product (UI,   b ack-end, X12, security, etc.)    

Takes ownership of project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables  

Able to convert complex manual test cases into automated tests, including tests with no existing pattern to follow   

Automated tests produced demonstrate sophistication of readability/reusability of code, and can employ complex SQL scripting   

Develops, runs ,   and maintains manual tests and test cases within   the   software test suite ; f ollows up with leadership to have test plans reviewed and approved, execute s   tests,   &   records results and defects   

Works with   Application E ngineers to reproduce & resolve problems in the functionality, accuracy, and efficiency of new or enhanced software features built by   Application E ngineers   

Collaborates with the Manager, Application Engineering to ensure that the product is meeting the Waystar quality standards   

Reports defects and tracks resolution status   

Contributes to QA process improvement initiatives   

Documents test cases and test results   

Participates in code reviews and testing of new features   

Supports cross-functional teams in delivering high-quality software   

Ensures compliance with QA standards and best practices   

Participates in QA training and professional development   

Contributes to the development of QA tools and automation frameworks   

Supports the implementation of QA metrics and KPIs   

Participates in QA audits and reviews   

Contributes to the development of QA documentation
