System1 is seeking a highly motivated Director of Taxes to lead tax strategy and compliance for a fast-growing technology company. This role requires deep expertise in corporate and partnership taxation, ASC 740, and FIN 48, with a proven track record in public accounting or public company environments. You will drive tax policy, manage complex tax filings, and ensure global tax compliance while supporting business growth and innovation.
About the Role
As Director of Taxes at System1, you will be a strategic leader shaping the company’s tax framework and ensuring compliance across global jurisdictions. You’ll work closely with finance, legal, and executive teams to optimize tax strategy, manage risk, and support scalable growth. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned tax professional who thrives in fast-paced, innovative environments.
What You Will Do
Lead tax strategy and compliance for the company’s global operations.
Manage complex tax filings and ensure adherence to ASC 740, FIN 48, and international tax regulations.
Oversee tax planning, risk assessment, and mitigation for corporate and partnership structures.
Collaborate with finance, legal, and executive teams to support business decisions and growth initiatives.
Manage and mentor a team of tax professionals to ensure operational excellence.
Stay current on evolving tax laws and regulations, and proactively advise leadership on tax implications.
Prepare and present tax-related reports and analyses to senior management and the board.
Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and audit readiness across all jurisdictions.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum 8+ years full-time experience, preferably in a large public accounting firm or public company environment.
Knowledge of corporate and partnership taxation as well as ASC 740 and FIN 48.
Undergraduate Accounting Degree (required).
Strong project management skills — must be able to take a project from initiation to completion.
Highly motivated, detail-oriented person with a strong work ethic.
Strong decision-making skills and ability to operate independently.
Highly organized and adept at prioritizing multiple tasks.
Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Nice to Have
CPA or Masters in Taxation Degree.
