Join Ammunition’s San Francisco-based industrial design team as a paid intern to help redefine markets through innovative, customer-focused design. You’ll contribute to every stage of the design process—from concept to implementation—while working alongside top designers to create meaningful, differentiated experiences for clients.
About the Role
Ammunition is an international design group that redefines markets by using design to create new business territory and connect with customers. Our industrial design team is seeking talented interns to help bring client brands to life through thoughtful, user-centered solutions. You’ll be fully embedded in the team, collaborating with UX, graphic, and packaging designers to deliver seamless product experiences. We value practical problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate ideas visually and verbally. This is a hands-on opportunity to grow your design skills while contributing to impactful projects in a creative, collaborative environment.
What You Will Do
Maintain design intention from concept generation to final implementation
Develop a thorough understanding of design principles
Commit personally to quality and attention to detail
Interface with UX, graphic, and packaging designers to create seamless product solutions
Ensure innovation by actively researching, sharing, and implementing new trends and materials
Manage time effectively, organize, and prioritize to handle multiple projects within tight deadlines
Communicate design ideas clearly and make articulate decisions
Coordinate with vendors to define and spec materials and processes for fabrication and assembly
Report to the VP, Industrial Design Studio
What We Are Looking For
Industrial design experience
BS/BA/BFA degree in industrial design or equivalent
3D modeling skills (Rhino, Pro/E, Solidworks)
Confidence with 2D and 3D design visualization tools
Evidence of prototyping abilities
Great communication skills (visual, verbal, written)
Ability to think quickly and problem-solve on the spot with maturity
Portfolio demonstrating wide-ranging concept exploration, innovative solutions, clear process, and visual appeal
Strong graphic aesthetic and practical experience with engineering and manufacturing constraints are preferred.
