Rippaverse Publishing
Animate comic book art for one of the largest independent publishers in the country. Rippaverse Publishing is an independent comic book company with $15M+ in sales, a catalog spanning superhero, sci-fi, western, and horror titles, and an audience of over a million followers across platforms. Our YouTube content — universe lore, company updates, and commentary — is built on some of the best comic art in the industry, and we're looking for someone who can make that art move.
This is an ongoing editor/motion designer position, not a one-off project. You'll be:
- Editing primarily long-form videos (with occasional shortform; some videos delivered in multiple formats)
- Taking pre-recorded content and cutting in our comic pages, art, and b-roll
- Animating static comic art — 2.5D/parallax panel animation, kinetic typography, title treatments, transitions
- Creating thumbnails for long and shortform content
- Working across content types: deep lore videos, company updates, commentary
All assets are provided: high-res comic pages, character art, logos, and brand materials. You'll be working with professional published artwork, not stock.
Part of the job is reading comics. You'll be given access to our catalog because understanding the Rippaverse — the characters, stories, and tone — is essential to editing this content well. Details matter here: character names, story context, visual continuity. If getting paid to read comics for research sounds like a perk, you're our kind of person.
