About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Virtual Medical Assistant to join our team at Texas Children's Virtual Support Center. As a hybrid Virtual Medical Assistant, you will provide patient care and excellent customer service as the first contact for patients, providers, and staff accessing virtual and/or non-virtual ambulatory clinics.
Responsibilities
Welcome and interact with all patients, families, and visitors in a professional, timely, age appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner
Coordinate communications including phone calls, pages, faxes, etc. in a friendly, professional, and timely manner
Facilitate the appointment check-in and virtual rooming procedure
Perform patient registration procedures per clinic process
Check on the activation status of the patient portal. Identify and offer access to the patient or patient proxy according to organizational guidelines
Reschedule missed appointments or add to clinic waitlist
Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow
Verify required paperwork is completed by the patient to ensure accuracy of information
