Introduction
Kinetic Homes was founded in 2026 and aims to increase the supply of affordable housing in the US. A key way that we do that is through our differentiated land acquisition strategy which focused on housing developments within existing neighborhoods as opposed to subdivision development. This allows us to sell a comparable home as large, national homebuilders at a ~20-30% lower price for the customer.
We are looking for our founding designer to help tell our story. Our audience includes customers, realtors and investors in our company.
We are growing fast, and we are doing many things that are not communicated on our website right now. Currently, we have a basic WordPress website that has done its job in the early days, however, we are looking to professionalize our website to an enterprise-grade standard.
Role Overview
We are looking for a designer who wants to understand Kinetic Homes deeply - our mission, customers, and how we're genuinely different from other homebuilders. You would then translate that into a brand and website that make people feel it.
You'll own how Kinetic looks, reads, and feels across every digital touchpoint. Most importantly, you'll own the story we tell on our website: who we are, who we serve, and why it matters.
We admire the way that Base Power Company (https://www.basepowercompany.com/) builds trust by featuring actual families (not stock photo actors) and sharing how their product has changed their customers lives. We want a website that earns trust in a similar manner. Additionally, we also love the clarity, ambition, and emotional elements that American Housing (https://www.americanhousing.com/) has great ambition, clarity and clean design around home ownership.
What you'll do
Tell our story on the web. Lead the redesign of our website into an enterprise-grade experience — clear, credible, and emotionally resonant. Own the narrative arc from the first headline to the final call to action.
Build empathy, not decoration. Develop a visual and editorial language rooted in real customers and real homes. Find and frame authentic stories the way the best mission-driven brands do.
Own the brand end to end. Shape and steward our identity — typography, color, photography direction, voice, and the systems that keep it consistent as we scale.
Create the digital assets that move us forward. Landing pages, social graphics, sales and investor collateral, email, and whatever the moment calls for — all unmistakably Kinetic.
Choose and shape the right tech stack. Decide, with us, whether we level up our WordPress site or move to something like Webflow, React, or another modern stack — then help bring it to life.
Partner across the company. Work directly with founders, marketing, sales, and product so the brand reflects the real business — and so the website actually drives results.
Who you are
A storyteller first. You think about the visitor's journey and the feeling you're creating, not just the layout. You can articulate why a design choice serves the message.
A craftsperson. Your taste is sharp and your execution is clean. You sweat the details that separate "fine" from "enterprise-grade."
A systems thinker who still cares about the single page. You can build a scalable brand system and obsess over one hero section.
Genuinely curious about the business. You want to understand the customer, the competition, and the mission — because you know that's where great brand work actually comes from.
Self-directed. This is a founding role. You're comfortable with ambiguity, owning outcomes, and setting the bar where one doesn't exist yet.
AI native / technical. This role will wear many hats, and a strong curiosity and background in AI design tools will be critical. Additionally, we will prioritize candidates that have development capabilities with an ability to own our website / digital presence end-to-end.
You don't have to be a full-stack engineer, but the more of these you bring, the better:
Hands-on experience building and shipping sites in Webflow , WordPress , React/Next.js , or comparable modern stacks
Front-end fundamentals — HTML, CSS, and enough JavaScript to be dangerous
A point of view on performance, SEO, accessibility, and what "enterprise-grade" actually requires under the hood
Comfort with motion, video, and interaction design
Familiarity with the modern design toolkit (Figma, etc.)
How to apply
Send us your portfolio and a short note on why Kinetic to erik@kinetichomes.com or apply here on Behance. We'd love to see work where you didn't just design something — you helped tell a story. If you've built websites, please include links to your portfolio.
