About the Role
The Disaster Risk Reduction Policy and Planning Specialist will play a central role in strengthening national and subnational emergency preparedness and response systems through the development of policies, operational plans, and training programs.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and institutionalize disaster preparedness and response systems within the public works sector.
Develop policies, operational plans, and training programs to strengthen national and subnational emergency preparedness and response systems.
Provide technical assistance and support to government agencies and other stakeholders in the development of disaster risk reduction policies and plans.
Conduct needs assessments, gap analyses, and capacity building activities to support the implementation of disaster risk reduction policies and plans.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups.
Provide regular progress reports and updates to project managers and other stakeholders.
