PNC Bank is seeking a Software Engineer Principal with strong hands-on Java experience (Core Java, Java 11+), expertise in designing, building, and maintaining high-transaction distributed RESTful APIs and microservices, knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, prior leadership experience, and experience leveraging Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban). The role requires a willingness to support releases/incidents after-hours or weekends (typically once per month), a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Preferred skills include knowledge of event-driven architecture using Kafka/MQ, experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and cloud-based container platforms, proficiency with Oracle/SQL/MySQL, Redis, and Hibernate/ORMs, hands-on experience with unit testing frameworks (Spock/JUnit) and SonarQube, advanced understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, experience with Dynatrace and Logscale monitoring/debugging tools, experience with Spring-based frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Spring Batch), and experience with build tools Gradle and/or Maven.
